David Arnold returns to compose the score for the 21st James Bond film following three previous outings, "Tomorrow Never Dies", "The World Is Not Enough" and "Die Another Day". But "Casino Royale" faces a fresh challenge for Arnold, as he has to usher in the era of a new 007 - Daniel Craig.

David Arnold's previous films have leaned heavily on an orchestral/electronic fusion sound, Casino Royale focuses more on the orchestra, and uses electronics sparingly. Also - and interestingly enough - Monty Norman's classic "James Bond Theme" is scarce, only showing up a couple of times over the course of the 75-minute album. This makes sense, since it's not until the end that James Bond becomes "James Bond". Instead, Arnold utilizes a melody he wrote for the film's song, "You Know My Name", which subtly hints at a precursor (with the ascending bass line) to the Bond theme. (from Soundtrack.net)

About the Composer

David ArnoldDavid Arnold (b. February 27, 1962 in Luton in Bedfordshire, England) is a British film composer, best known for composing four James Bond films (Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day and Casino Royale) and cult television show Little Britain.

You Know My Name: Theme Song

You Know My NameCornell describes the new song as "more uptempo and a little more aggressive than any other Bond theme has been, maybe since Paul McCartney ("Live And Let Die"). It has an orchestra, but it also has some angry sounding guitar, and it's got feedback."

Arnold and Cornell finished recording "You Know My Name" in Air Studios in London (then mixed in L.A.) in late August and delivered it to Eon Productions and Sony. Arnold's focus then shifted to scoring the film, which he completed this week. Cornell is shot the video for the single's release in Los Angeles.

About the Fanlisting

A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country.

My love for the James Bond franchise was diminished by the Pierce Brosnan era, but the newly reincarnated Bond in Daniel Craig renewed my love for the series. This could not have been possible without the brilliant music score that coupled with an equally excellent film, filled with action, romance and refreshing wit and style. If you haven't noticed, this site is named after track 17, 'Bond Wins It All'. It's an irony, as Bond may indeed have won the stakes at the poker table, but his unbridled passion and love for Vesper Lynd also led to his downfall, moulding the Bond as we know, love and hate today.

So, if you're a fan like me, do join the fanlisting!
